I can only hope some of Khamenei's concern for his citivens spreads to the chief idiot. I just wanted to tell you that art is fantastic!

Jim, this statue IS breath taking. I saw it in the 5th biennial sculture festival in tehran, in December.

The statue seems to be standing on chains (1 inch thick) and it stands above an average person's height. When I saw it I stopped breathing. I will post more pictures as the are making them available on MOCA (museum of contemporary art).

I have in fect plenty of art reports that I brought back from Iran, but I have competing duties that prevent me from posting them now.

I am happy you liked this.

As for the chief idiotS, what has ALWAYS worried me more has been the sheepish populace. The leaders, in a country of dissidents are powerless. I will be watching the American elections with interest. I am yet to see when the debate is rising above superficial issues such as race and gender of the candidate!

That statue is gorgeous. it is definitely breathtaking. I will be looking forward to seeing more in the future. As for our elections, I don't have much hope for them myself because of the last 2 stolen elections and what I am afraid Bush is going to do this year before these elections to stay in power.

Bonjour Naj,

Unfortunately you did not comment on this impressive stature. What does it means and where is it

Sorry George,
I must have referred you to this earlier post

I don't know what the statue means. For me, it is a woman, chained, made of paper, and the sheets are blown away as wind carries her off.
