I would have ...

I would have stood behind Ahmadinejad, if he had not become the face of fascism.
I would have been now cheering the glorious images of a massively attended election, over 42 million out of some 49 million eligible voters participating in the election.
I would have been posting images of happy men and women, rural and urban, rich and poor, lined up to vote.
I would have been standing tall in front of the world, and would have said "look, Iran is not the backward dictatorship that your media is projecting it to be."
I would have ... ONLY if the "passionate outbursts after soccer game"-as stupidly uttered by that ugly man--were not faced with bullets and batons!
I would have ... ONLY if the headquarters of the opposite parties to Ahmadinejad had NOT been raided, tear gassed, and closed
I would have ... ONLY if the foreign journalists were not kicked out and the internal reporters were not intimidated
I would have ... ONLY if I had not seen pictures of ununiformed, ugly, angry men holding knives to unarmed gigolos
I would have ... ONLY if the result of 42 million votes were NOT released in less than 24 hours!!! If the election monitors were allowed to monitor the count!!! If there was at least a small gesture that "sure, we do re-count for the respect of our democratic process, instead of shedding blood!"

This is NOT religion versus democracy ...
This is fascism versus humanity ...

I am sure many good people have voted for Ahmadinejad.  Where are they? Why are Ahmadinejad supporters incapable of making arguments better than "ey-val eyvale eyval ..."?
Why are Ahmadinejad supporters silent, letting this get out of hand?

It is  my moral imperative to now raise concern that Ahmadnejad has become the face of fascism ... I don't believe anyone from the top is allowing or encouraging the thugs to brutalize the nation, but I am SAD that the supreme leader is NOT calling his militia to calm ... I am SAD that the IRI has lost grip of its "pressure groups" ...

The IRI is collapsing to the ruthlessness of the FASCISTS ... and it is my moral imperative to scream it, and to beg Iranians, the supporters of Ahmadinejad, IF they are 62% of the 42 million to STAND UP to this travesty ... to reclaim Iran's position ...

In the past 24 hours, Israel's been drawing circles around Palestine ...
Soon they will be drawing circles around Iran ...

To all my non-Iranian readers ... be vigilant of the neoconservatives in your governments ...

Iran doesn't need liberation ...

The IRI must calm people down, respectfully, even if it takes a recount, even if it takes a re-vote ... We are caught between a rock and a hard place ... Fascist from inside and Zionists from outside ... are they in cahoots? I fear they are!

My fears are not baseless because I am increasingly hearing rumors circulating that Chavez and Hizbollah are providing anti-riot forced to clamp down on people's revolt ... I don't believe this UNTIL one of these supposed "foreign oppressors" is arrested and caught on tape and challenge his Persian language abilitis are proven. But that this rumor is circulating worries me, as it suggests there are propaganda forces that are conflating Iran's internal election affairs with international war-on-terror agenda ... this is worrying me because it is forcing me to shut my mouth up and not fight the emboldened fascists of Iran ...

No, they are not organized under a fascist leadership ... they are just given legitimacy ... fascism is not necessarily a political ideology ... it is a psychological one ... it's the intolerance of a group who feel righteous about their wantings and their values and are arrogant and brutal in forcing their vision of history and life onto others, with little chance for dialogue ...

I have a fascist cousin ... She turned off the music at her sister's wedding and played Koran tapes! She reported on my sisters and I, hoping to kick us out of university! She was a member of the Islamic Association of the university, harassing female students who were not dressed properly in her view ... she was a nice kid when we were young and played together ... then she had an accident, her head was hit and her personality changed ... she turned on us because maybe we had more, she reacted to us for having a more privileged life ... fascism is a reactionary grass root movement ...

This is what I am afraid of ... ordinary people turning intolerant, in reaction to something very personal in their own lives ...

Those who wronged my mother after revolution didn't so because of some strong ideological opposition to her (after all, my mother was an anti-shah nationalist herself!) ... those who wronged her did so because at some point prior in time, she had exercised her authority on them in manners unsuitable to their interest (i.e. sending his mini-joup wearing wife to serve in a village, like the rest of them "knowledge army" girls).

...

You see, it is complex ... I don't ever throw baby out with the bath water ... but I cannot stay silent about the wrong Ahmadinejad and Khamenei are doing to Iran right now ...
