The hot market of election debate!

While some Iranians have gotten into a passive-aggressive state with regards to participation in the upcoming election, the debate amongst the 8 candidates is running vigorously.
My wonderful country has no diplomatic ties with Iran, and they have not been collaborating with Iran on facilitating participation in the election for the dual-citizen Iranians who wished to vote (this democratic government, while preaching righteousness over its democratic opposition to the anti-democratic Iran, would not mind to ship back or strip away citizenships from dual citizens.) Therefore, I cannot vote, even if I wanted to!

Thank you democratic nations that decide what version of democracy Iranians ought to practice!!!

The Western countries and their unfair policies.
And now The USA proving the world with an "example" of democracy, by imposing new sanctions to Iran, and making the things way too difficult!
I hate The USA with all my heart and soul, and don´t feel ashamed of it.

Mariana,

Despite all my dislike for the US, it is still a country that promised "hope" to many people. If you want to hate USA, then you have to first dissect the Anatomy of Hope, which has given rise to the rise of the US.

Are you in Canada? As far as I know they are going to have polling stations in the US,

Dear Naj
I´m so sorry you cannot vote in your home country but I disagree with you on your vision about America being a hope for many people. The USA are not the promised land, that nation is the great Shaytan ans same goes to IsreHELL, UK & Rothchilds.
The world is going to the dogs, thanks to those imperialism states.
People in Gaza strip / West Bank, are being killed just for the sake of it, inside the genocidal state of Israel and nothing´s changed, they don´t respect the 242 resolution, the Oslo pacts.
Zionism, colonialism & yankee empire, all of them must desappear too soon...Inshallah
Today I was at the palestinian embassy and felt peace with capitol letters.
I hope the worst for Israel and its people all ove the globe.
Remember the 14th surah: the opression will disappear, just exactly like the whisperer did, when men thought of Allah.

Mariana,

I dislike your desperate cursing. I dislike your blnket hatred. And I dislike you citing Quran, and perhaps thinking of some of its more violent vindictive verses.

It is because of people like you that Muslims have lost credibility in their plight to claim their rights.

I know that when one is cornered, when one is wounded and then cornered, one would feel like you do . But te words are powerful tools. use them to a purpose, else we would sound like incapacitated cursing fools.

Naj, thanks for your kind words.
It´s not just about religion, that I threw up those bitter sentiments.
I dislike to death, that, being citizens of the XXI Century, some powerful nations (the minority)still impose a total embargo towards a beautiful country which was the birthplace of an exquisite civilization and culture, without any pint of simpathy, empathy, sorrow or even a comprehension on how much they are bloody affecting the common people who lead their lives inside The Islamic Republic.
I want to stand up and don´t be an accomplice with silence.
The whole world should take note of this and act in consequence, for good, for once, for Iran and its people.

Point well take Mariana, but I think your efforts are best influential if directed at specific issues, and if not turned into a defense of the defenseless Ahmadinejad!

Here are some topics you can address, about the world's ignorance about Iran:

- Argo! You can direct your hatred at Hollywood for incorrect depiction of a historical event with political motives.

- The hypocrisy of calling for democracy for Iran, while turning a blind eye on Saudi Arabia, or the slavery system in little Arab Emirats

- The sanctions on food, medicine, science, agriculture, travel and etc.

- The oil and gas politics, across the globe.

You see, these are four simple things you can fight, as a principled activist of this world seeking justice, WITHOUT dirtying your hands shaking hands with Iran's president, who MAINTAINS these sanctions are not hurting people!

You see, the IRanian leadership INSISTS that the sanctions are not hurting them. so, if you believe the Iranian leaders, then you should not worry about sanctions.

Naj, as a foreigner, I´ve got some questions about the entire iranian scenario.
It´s your blog and don´t want to go off topic too much, however I´m dying to hear both bells (pro and anti regime) and elaborate a synthesis of it (praised Hegel!) on my own.
May I please submit my questions for you to answer?
Thanks in advance!

Of course, shoot them! :)

Alright then...
1) You consider Dr. Ahmadinejad as a defenseless president. Being an iranian woman, do you think he is THE real problem of Iran? Is his 8 years presidency the worst administration that The Islamic Republic is facing so far?
2) You just mentioned very interesting topics about the consequences of the multiple sanctions imposed to your country since The Revolution got materialized.
Don´t you think it´s a shameless double standard? USA "pretends" to seek democracy in Middle East (your country in particular) by imposing terrible embargos, silencing the human rights violations in Saudi Arabia, Irak, Palestine?? Perhaps, I sound really naïve (I´m too young I know...), but I can´t understand the silence of the international agencies, but yet they condemn Iran without complete knowledge of the complex scenario
3) Why do you think that Latin Americans embrace the iranian cause? I must admitt I really liked to see AN visiting Fidel Castro, because of what he means to us still nowadays...
4) Mohsen Rezaei & Ali Akbar Velayati are being accused by zionism of bombing the AMIA center in Buenos Aires, which we all know it´s a filth tale by Mossad. Now they are candidates for the upcoming election.
Will any of the candidates be able to reconstruct the intenal economical situation?
As an iranian, do you think we will see changes in the short term? (of course if US / their allies "allow" this)
5) If you could make a balance of this 8 years, Iran is more isolated than ever?
Thanks for your time!!!
Best

Your questions are italicized"

YES! He has been the worst disaster, the worst enemy of the country, EVER. He has only been good to Netanyahu. He has wrecked the economy, and has set an example of how far one can get with NO ETHICS!

2) You just mentioned very interesting topics about the consequences of the multiple sanctions imposed to your country since The Revolution got materialized.

Yes it is a hypocrisy. Unfortunately, however, Ahmadinejad has given people a simple narrative to single Iran out. There is no shred of doubt in the minds of ANYONE that the treatment Iran is receiving is unfair. But to be fair, Iran has its share of crazies. If Iranian authority did not assassinate Iranian writers inside Iran, Iranian figures outside Iran, if it did not kill IRanian journalists, if it did not issue a fatwa to kill writers, then it would have been easier to defend it. So, we cannot just blindly blame the world when the Iranian regime is oppressing ORDINARY Iranians over stupid mundane civil rights.

3) Why do you think that Latin Americans embrace the iranian cause? I must admitt I really liked to see AN visiting Fidel Castro, because of what he means to us still nowadays...

Because people think Ahmadinejad is a symbol of resistance. ALSO, because Iranians have made several economic investments in Latin America. It is easy to fool people who are far far from Iran. How many latin Americans have ever travelled to Iran? How many Iranians live in Latin America? I am curious, actually.

4) Mohsen Rezaei & Ali Akbar Velayati are being accused by zionism of bombing the AMIA center in Buenos Aires, which we all know it´s a filth tale by Mossad. Now they are candidates for the upcoming election.

It is none of US and their allies to "allow" Iran change or not. The problems in Iran are solely the responsibility of the people of Iran. They will with time find a way to come together and unite against internal and external enemies: mullahs and Usrael. It is very stupid to lame Iran's problems on the rest of the world, really. Our first major problem is that Iran is run as a theocracy. I hope that will get fixed soon. faith should be limited to people's heart, temple, and shrine. It must have no place in politics. Political religions = VIOLENCE!

5) If you could make a balance of this 8 years, Iran is more isolated than ever?

YEs, it is most isolated and MOST TAKEN ADVANTAGE of! Iran has a strategic investment in latin America, they are clever in that policy. But how far will the latin Americans stick by IRan? History will tell. From experience: all will end once Iran's cash flow to these populist 'friend' countries stops! You see, the chinese for instance like Iran too, but they don't miss any chance to screw it and take economic advantage.

Thanks for your time!!!
Best

My pleasure.
