This blog is about fairness; about looking at objects from multiple perspectives. Stable transformation comes only slowly; and only if the environment is free of sporadic jitters of passion and anger that destabilize growth. I strongly believe that the path to peace crosses through the battle with self.

Iranian Journey
The IRANIAN JOURNEY (Maysoon Pachachi,1999) is a documentary about Ma’soomeh, the first Iranian and perhaps the only long-distance female bus driver of the Middle East in the year 1999. Whether Ma’soomeh is the first female driver of the Muslim world is far less important than the fact that she is a bus driver in a presumably patriarchic society. This film was distributed by Women Make Movies. Read more of Offscreen's special issue on Iranian cinema.

Dear Naj, the link to Offscreen's doesn't seem to work.
sorry about that. Maybe the editor is fixing the error I reported in the editing of it.
okey it's fixed now.
The Iranian Journey is bt Maysoon Pachachi; the Ladies Room by Mahnaz Afzali.
Naj, great review, and great conclusion! Are your articles translated in "Persian"?
Thanks Homeyra, no they are not. I have not written anything in Persian for years. :( and I don't have many Persian English-readers either.
