blame-blame/bomb-bomb

In case you wonder the title is the sound of 4th of July fireworks ... nope! For whatever reason, after a relative media calm about Iran, the NYT has launched it's blame-blame bomb-bomb campaign against Iran this morning.

Greg Mitchel warns against NYT's amnesia: in Consider the Source!

...

In other news:

The United States representatives propose to support an Iranian terrorist group: MKO! and this comes just as the EU makes a move against the MKO's armed opposition to the Iranian Government

The MKO has terrorized Americans
The MKO has terrorized Iranains
The MKO has terrorized the MKO members!
The Iranian regime massacred the young and at times teenage MKO members in the Evin Prison (and else where) in the mid 80s.
The MKO joined the Iraqis in invading Iran (Operation Mersaad) in the mid 80s.
The MKO was disarmed after American invasion and the fall of Baghdad.
The Iranian government granted amnesty to the MKO members who wished to return to Iran; but also stated that they would be interrogated upon return.

As (since Mersaad Operation) I hold the MKO below contempt, I will not dedicate any time more than I have to them. Feel free to google them up.

MKO is a spent force. They are not fighters any longer; men & women who are now in their late 40s and early 50's cannot physically fight.

Canadians support the continuing operations of MKO in Toronto area -recruiting, fund-raising, etc.

The man responsible for the Mashad bombing in the shrine of Imam Reza on June 20, 1994 that killed 50 humble pilgrims lives in California.

Cubana Flight 455, in a flight from Barbados to Cuba, was brought down by a terrorist attack on October 6, 1976. All 73 people on board the Douglas DC-8 aircraft. This was a CIA operation.

Four men were arrested in connection with the bombing: Freddy Lugo and Hernan Ricardo Lozano were sentenced to 20-year prison terms; Orlando Bosch was acquitted because of technical defects in the prosecution evidence, and now lives in Miami, Florida; and Luis Posada Carriles escaped from prison and eventually fled to the United States, where he is was being held on charges of entering the country illegally but was released on the 19th April 2007.

The Americans do not respect Law as it is applied to non-Americans; what they do respect is Power.

Reagan and daddy Bush had Bin Laden on the CIA payroll in the 1980's and also gave money and weapons to Saddam.

This is no surprise, Bush and the neocons fund future enemies, then later on they reap the benefits of war against those same people they funded.

Iran Contra Affair
When most people think of US Arab relations, the Iran Contra affair comes to mind along with Saddam Hussane, the Gulf War and the price of oil. The issue started in 1985 when guns and other weaponry were secretly sold to Iran. Although it was first stated that the goal of the sale was to improve relations with Iran, it was later disclosed in hearings by President Ronald Regan that the arrangement had turned into an arms-for-hostages swap. Many Americans were distraught over the sale of guns to a hostile Iranian government, especially when the integrity of the US was threatened by dealing with terrorists.

As someone has pointed out, if a question had been put to a computer about what needed to be done to: 1) get the Arabs off Israel's back; 2) part the Arabs from their money; 3) keep the Iranians contained - and part them from their money; 4) keep the oil flowing; 5) make sure the world recycled its old military equipment; 6) keep the Soviets happy; and 7) make a lot of arms dealers and defense contractors rich, it could not have come up with a better solution than the Iraq-Iran war.

Handling the contra-funding arrangements was Saudi ambassador Prince Bandar, a close friend of both Weinberger and Powell. Bandar and Powell had met in the 1970s and were frequent tennis partners in the 1980s.
In 1985, when the Saudis doubled their annual contra gift from $12 million to $25 million, Vessey quickly passed on word to Weinberger again. This time, the record is clear that the Defense Secretary understood that the contribution to buy weapons was part of the larger contra-aid strategy.
"Jack Vessey in office alone," Weinberger wrote on March 13, 1985. "Bandar is giving $25 million to Contras -- so all we need is non-lethal aid."

Karim Sadjadpour, Iran Analyst, International Crisis Group

The troubled relationship between the United States and Iran has never been as uncertain as it is now. In Washington (and much of Europe) there exists a visceral reaction to Iranian president Mahmoud Ahmadi-Nejad and a strong belief that Tehran is pursuing a nuclear weapons program. Among Iranian officials there exists a visceral reaction to George W. Bush and a strong suspicion that the nuclear issue is simply a pretext used by a U.S. administration whose ultimate goal is regime change in Tehran. Yet, for the first time since Iran’s 1979 revolution, both governments have recently stated publicly that they’re ready for dialogue with the other. Which is likely to prevail, confrontation or conversation?

"Bom Bomb Bomb, Bomb Bom Iran"??

Republican presidential contender John McCain, known for having a quirky sense of humor, joked about bombing Iran at a campaign appearance this week.

Larry, the notion of funding future enemies then waging war against them and making money from it is mind-blowing! Will the U.S. eventually attack Israel?
