Iranian's courage on display ... dare you not ever attacking this nation of lions ...

Mousavi, Khatami and Karoubi asked people to not break the "law" and not participate in the rally scheduled at this very hour.

However, "to prevent excessive brutality", the three of them have joined the massive crowds gathered on Azadi street, launching a peaceful protest ...

Many a religious leader are protesting the election results ... Sanei, Javadi Ameli ...

Nothing less than a re-vote will put this fire down ...

I can only sit and pray ... and cry ...

World, for four years you sat and nagged that the illegally/fraudulently elected Bush had hijacked your country, wreaking havoc in the world ... watch us ... empty handed ... we are standing to tyranny ... to the tyranny of imperialism, and the tyranny of dictators ...

Ahmadinejad lost his chance to be the front man of this great nation ... brutality will not last ... It is time for him to pass the flag on to someone who is more respected, more respectable, and also more courageous and wise  ... This is the only chance IRI has for a respectable survival ... if we come out of this as victor people, as united people, we have emerged unbreakable ... For unity, we MUST compromise ...

Some called Mousavi's supporters "whishi washi sissis" ... those wishiwashi sissis are on the front line ... I wish I could hold them back ... hide them in their houses ... but this should teach a good lesson to those who think they can attack Iran and get away with it!

Be ware ... this is a  nation of brave hearts ... hands off Iran ... yo ... Netanyahu ... yo Dick Cheney ... yo Al Quaeda ... yo Pan-Arabists ... I am talking to you!

I am truly amazed at the size of the protests in Tehran! I think, at the very least, that the IRI leadership is scared and starting to think they need to make some concessions to calm the people. I heard that the Supreme Leader has asked the Guardian Council to carefully consider the complaints against the election results that Mousavi and the other reformist candidate have lodged. This is a good sign. Maybe the Guardian Council will authorize an official recount. If so, it is imperative that objective observers trusted by all candidates be allowed to participate in the recount process.

On a much less positive note, I read that shots were fired into crowds of protesters and at least one protester has been killed. I hope the violence will not escalate.

david my brother was there ... he emailed and said it was calm ... and said all leaders were there ...

Anonymous ... recognize this for what it is ... you are smarter than that to deny this ... you have been old enough to have seen 1979 ... people saying takbir from roofs at night? ...

I am so so so proud of my people ...

I just heard someone was shot dead. Also I heard a boy was shot in the head with tear gas and the RG threatened to shoot anyone who attended a Mousavi rally.

pen name, yes they were there but they were there to CELEBRATE and maybe receive potato bags!!
And people who go to ahmadinejad rallys are dragged out of schools and put on buses ... they don't RISK THEIR LIVES despite the implicit and explicit threats of the fascist IRNA!

You will not bring down an elected government by your lies.

Learn from Americans - they love their country more than their own little interests.

Shame, shame, shame.

All the independent observers have reported that there were anywhere between 35,000 to 40,000 people at Ahmedinejad's -so-called- victory rally a couple of days ago. His event was supported and protected by the militia and other police agencies. The organizers had all the government's machinery behind them and brought their supporters by bus and vans. It was a planned and staged rally.

On the other hand, everybody in Iran and around the world are reporting and showing that at least one million people were in the streets of Tehran today, demanding that their vote be counted and respected. This, in spite of all the the odds, without any central organization, without anybody leading them. They were calm and civilized and only have defended themselves with their bare hands when attacked by the fascists.

Iranians, are a great and smart people. I'm sure some of Ahmadinejad's supporters are now questioning the legitimacy of the announced results.

So Pen Names of the world, know this:

You're playing with fire. A small bunch of fascists are manipulating you. However, if your hands are not in the blood, we still consider you our brothers and sisters. 80% of this population is now together like one. Many of the rest will join soon. A few fascists who remain out, will have no other option. They ِeither have to join the sea of the people or get lost forever, like Hitler and Mussolini did. The choice is yours. Make your mind fast.

This DUELY elected government has major flaws:

1) it is supported by MILITIA, i.e ununiformed armed men with dubious affiliation and chain of command

2) this duly elected government and its duely selected supreme leader is incapable of reigning in these Milita, even to the detriments of the foundations of the IRI

3) this duly elected government felt SO insecure about its MASSIVE success!!!! that it started shutting down communication channels ... started intimidating the opposition and started acting like a stupid little despot!!

4) this duly elected government has UNDERMINED the dignity of ALL who voted for it, but its ineffectiveness in controlling the milita who have killed students in university dormitories

That you call it the "government of god' is just a proof of the STUPIDITY of your argument.

Are these kids susceptible to manipulation? YES!
But, aren't Ahmadinejad's Militia susceptible to manipulation? Who is controlling them? why shoudl we have "lebas shaksi"??? who are they? where are they paid from? who commands them? who disciplines them?

Say, tomorrow there will be another vote! And say Ahmadinejad wins 70% of the votes. I will still be DEMANDING answers to those same questions! Do you have any?

If this government is elected DULY, then i hope there will be a public inquiry in to the conduct of people during this election ... and of course i hope there wont be any intimidation and etc ...

Stop being a hypocrite ... you know yourself the stench that comes from the pores of this IRI of ours!!!

You are ignorant of the realities of Iran - you cannot accept the results of a fair election.

All I have heard from Mr. Mousavi has been slander - no shred of evidence has been supplied.

The so-calld reform movement just comitted suicide in Iran - it has lost the trust of the humble, the pious, and the poor people of Iran. For these so-called reformists cannot accept defeat - cannot accept that there are 24 million Iranians that do not care about their liberalization agenda. They have contempt for the rest of us Iranians.

I posted Dr. Fridman's essay since even he comprehends Iran better than you.

You have turned your web site to an aniti-Iran propoganda tool that only benefits the enemies of your country. What you are publishing, without verifying their truth, is feed for those in US that are preparing Americans for war against us.

When and if the bombs start to fall, they will kill without distinctions.

Your American friends - Nunya, David, etc. will be of no help and indeed cannot help.

EU will not do a damn thing.

You claim there have been massive cheating - where is your proof?

You have no proof an thus you bring the issue of police brutality - however truthful those allegations may be.

Please reflect more before posting more propaganda.

Ya Qaem-e Al-e Muhmammad!

Pen Name, my american frends HAVE BEEN of help because it is they who have pushed their DEMOCRATICALLY ELECTED president to change his ways and his approach, so much so that even now he is not interested in meddling in Iran's politics ... good for Obama ...

We are members of the same humanity

my loyalty is first to truth, next to my country ... the leaders of it only fit in when they comply with moral structure of MY world ...

The cosmopolitan humanity of friends like Numya and david is a much more important saving grace for this world as a whole, than you narrow vision of history and man ...

it is YOU who should wake up and smell the coffee buddy!

I ask again - where is the proof of cheating?

I ask again - why can't these rioters - well-to-do youth from Northern Tehran respect the will of people?

I think that because of these demonstration by young and relatively well-educated people, the religious people inside and outside of the government will now be forced to stop bothering [young] people and stop interfereing in their lives. So I think in the second Ahmadinejad presidency we will see these religious fanatics going away - otherwise there will be more social outbursts of anger like this.

All of this could have been avoided by a less rigid government.
